The Newcastle Knights have approached Buderus about gaining an early release from his Leeds Rhinos contract, their club is in turmoil and they want him to lead the club whilst Kurt Gidley is out injured.

I wouldn't stand in his way if he asks for a release, Diskin, Sinfield and McShane can handle the hooking role.

He won't be missed. A large chunk of cap and has offered very little. He was an unnecessary signing and I wont be sorry to see him go back.

If it were close season then maybe, but unless we got a top class player in for the rest of the season we'd be a man down.

Not really. We have 3 hookers at the moment, i'm sure we could cope with the two. You know, like we did last year.

Ive checked a few sites and all i can find is the current crisis the Knights are re-players being nicked for alleged drug offences.
I think if they do approach him it could prove a catch 22 for him especially as last year he ended the season as he started in the treatment room.
The club do have enough "depth" to off-set the loss although he does want to win a trophy at leeds so i'd be for whatever he decides i'd be happy enough go along with,on the other hand it would be a shame because he hasn't hit his SOO form or influence with us yet although we have seen glimpses of his undoubted quality.
Still too many if's and but's at the moment though.

I haven't seen a link yet but it was on channel nine news and on radio here in Sydney.
