| One change to last weeks squad with ECW coming in for Edgell. I reckon he will go with the same team although I prefer to have Sinfield or possibly Jenkins in there instead of Smith and Newman on a final warning that he could lose his place to ECW if he doesn`t perform Saturday.

| Really not sure where this trope of Newman not performing is coming from to be honest.

| Newmans been well under what most expect him to be capable of for a while. Trying to win penalties by throwing himself on the floor after being tackled losing momentum etc. Hopefully against a few lower league sides he can get back to the player he could be

How many tries has he scored or created this season? What’s his average run meters and gain? What’s his average tackle count and misses? What’s his penalty and error count? He’s not having the impact that his alleged marquee salary would suggest he should be having. If he doesn’t improve, significantly, we should be looking to do better.

| Good result for is tonight, makes the Cas game a big one as we can end up 3rd by the end of this round.
Which IMO is about where we should be looking at the teams below and their form

He’s not having the impact that his alleged marquee salary would suggest he should be having. If he doesn’t improve, significantly, we should be looking to do better. It's a tough one. On one hand he's home grown and one of the most exciting players we have produced in the post golden era. On the other hand the injuries do look to have robbed him of most of his pace and agility. I'm sure some would point out that he's the current England centre, but realistically he'd be doing very well to push ahead of Wardle and Handley (Farnworth has the other spot wrapped up) for an Ashes spot. Bottom line is there is a very shallow pool of English centres in SL and Harry is probably as good as we can do at the moment without using a quota spot. ECW is the joker in the pack though. The club have acknowledged that he is the fastest player on our books and to my mind real pace in the backs is the thing we are missing. Seems like it would be a real shame to bring him over here and not find out what he can offer now he is fit. If he can put together a run in the reserves Newman/Lumb could be under pressure.

I would swap Jenkins for Bentley. That still leaves a back row of McDonnell Gannon Watkins and Smith.

| There's also the minutes played limits to consider, I'd imagine Jenkins will come in for one of the forwards that have played a lot of minutes.

| I'd have Jenkins over Bentley. Sinfield over O'Connor and Newman on his last chance with ECW coming in if no improvement.

All opinions Chris but he has not lived up to the player we thought he would be imo.Very petulant and always in there trying to wind up the opposition. That actually doesn`t bother me too much if he can deliver on the pitch which for me he hasn`t and as the current England centre he should be doing better.

Newman scored just 2 try's in 11 games this season, that's a poor return and very little attacking threat he is offering. I don't think its too much of an exaggeration to say he is the most overrated over hyped player we have ever produced.

| He doesn't look like making a line break, is frail in defence and is always good for a penalty or error. He has been average at best and nothing like what he was a year or two ago when he looked threatening every time he has the ball.
