| Looks like we have 8 non-fed but rules state 7, so either someone didn't get a visa, they are no longer non-fed or....? I also thought only 3 of non-fed could be overseas or was it 5?
Taken form our squad thread:
Overseas and NonFed
Mark Offerdahl
Karl Davies
Jake Mullaney
Adrian Purtell
Adam Henry
Kolpak and NonFed
Etu Uaisele
Chris Ulugia
Harry Siejka

| I would be very surprised if Ferres has got his numbers wrong. There must be someone who doesn't count. They probably haven't thought about explaining it as if the numbers are right there isn't a problem - so no explanation needed.
It should come out later when somebody asks them.

| Surely for us to register them as players we have to go to the RFL to do that?
Mind you, the RFL aren't that hot on enforcing correct player registrations, are they?

The non-fed ruling has absolutely nothing to do with what passports players have. All this talk of Polish passports means nothing.

If he has a polish passport he's classed as an EU citizen so rfl cant apply None fed rules him as would be in breach of EU regulations. We have signed a catalans player who is french but doesnt count towards quota or None fed.

Wow. Well if that's true then I take back what I said, and I've learned something new today.
Steve Ferres is certainly on the ball it seems.
Are there any other instances of this 'loophole' being exploited? I'm surprised it isn't a bit more commonplace.

| Whatever how the rules are interpreted, it is wrong to allow so many non-British players to the game.

Your correct about your French player not counting on non fed trained quota but its nothing to do with his eu passport. The passport is just to do with overseas quota.
All french players who've come through the French youth system are classed as fed trained. This was brought in a few years back to aid French development.
As to how we've got eight non fed, can only think of two explanations.
Firstly offerdahl has failed to get a visa and isn't coming. He was only player announced where they added caveat about signing subject to visa. Think this is most likely scenario.
Secondly there may have been some dispensation given to players from emerging nations who played in World Cup. Think I remember it being mentioned at time but don't remember a formal announcement. Offerdahl is obvious one who'd qualify for this if it did happen

No it's not. It's only wrong if it's against the rules. That's why we have rules. I have Steve Ferres down as a very cute cookie and, much as I confess I haven't worked it out yet, I trust him to be to the letter of the laws. If I'm honest, after the way we've been treat over last few years, I don't give fig for anyone else's 'moral' complications.
