These two sets of fans seem to have give each loads of stick over the last few years, more so than they've given to their so-called traditional rivals as in Widnes for Wire and St Helens for Wigan.

If you had asked do they see each other as the hardest opponent to beat then maybe most would have said yes. But Stains are the antichrist and always will be. IMO I think most pies would always support who ever were playing stains in any game. Whereas quite a few would want Wolves to beat any Yorkshire team and quite a few teams from this side of the pennines and definately would want them to beat Stains

I think it's logical for teams to have a few 'rivalries', but there will always be that one that stands out for you. We had a massive rivalry with Bradford and Leeds etc back in the day, but Wigan always stood out as [ithe one[/i.

Saints will always be our biggest rivals but at the minute Wire are our biggest threat to achieving success.

Good post. As a Wire fan, I would always expect that the Saints v Wigan rivalry is the biggest. Rivalry and threat are two completely different things.

Beating Saints means just a little bit more. But the disappointment of losing to either is equal at the moment I'd say. Horrible feeling!

I've got plenty family members who still see Leigh as a bigger rival than Warrington.
