Doesn't take a great feat of memory to remember Sandow to be fair.

Difficult to claim you don't have any ambition when you have spent hundred of thousands of pounds on transfer fees and signed Sandow in recent seasons.

Your squad at the start of next season will tell you if you have any ambition. You've got 12 or so off contract so have plenty of room for big changes. I'd expect Gidley and Sims to be gone and replaced with better players. Fullback isn't your main area of concern at the moment, so it's not a showstopper that you've missed out on Barba.

If anyone watches those videos of Barba running in great tries he's making runs up the middle of the park feeding of nice passes or good offloads.
what's he going to feed off for us at the minute... Ashtons Sims crazy offloads or Kevin Browns head high bullet passes??

a quality organising half back is a must....we simply haven't replaced Lee Briers.....

Mind you Saints have only just replaced Paul Wellens....

We're the biggest spenders in the league: how does that show a lack of ambition? You can claim the money has been poorly spent, or that players that were brought in aren't up to it, but that's another matter. Fact is, with no decent Aussies available, and a dearth of talent in SL at the moment, there's not much to throw your money at: we're brought the likes of Clark, Lineham, Westerman, Brown and paid fees. I hardly think that's lacking ambition.

What we really need now is a show-stopping, excitement building, get bums on seats and make us real contenders type signing. I don't watch the NRL enough, or stay close enough to the various dodgy fire-sale type players (Monaghan, Sandow, Barba) to know who that might be, but we risk being left behind and drifting back into the middle of the pack where we find ourselves now if we don't, I fear. A top class half back is a must. With Ratch a FB, Clark at DH, Westerman at LF I think we're pretty close to having a top class spine-we need a marque half though, and I hope Moran is prepared to dig deep for one/we have the contacts to make it happen.

Signing Barba certainly would have shown the ambition to take us back to the early-mid 2000s.
