KH going to have a few selection headaches in the next few weeks when Flanagan returns from his ban.. Mennell, Moore, Lythe and Handforth playing very well rotating between 6,7,9 between them and then Flanagan to add to that makes Batley quite an attacking team!

Thats why were champions, thats why were champions. Well that and the fact that no major trophys are won in a friendly in January. 
Good run out for both teams. £14 addmission was a rip off. Batley were pumped for the game and it really showed. It looked like Fax were just dusting the cobwebs off but it livened up a bit with a bit of fisticuffs. If it had been dry i feel Batley would have beaten us by more but it wouldnt have been a disaster with so many players missing. Batley wont win the league but they have a capable side again and will have a major say in who wins what because on their day they will be able to beat anyone. |

I know it did look pretty strong didnt it. I think it was 10 players counted who didnt play, obviously not all of them will be first choice but i can count Black,Nash, Beswick, Gannon, Watene, Aizue and Goddard that will probably be first choice with Larder, Smith, Rudd and Ostick probably on the fringes. You are right though i wasnt expecting us to put a really strong team on the field this year but looking at it that way its not half bad. TBH though i think we have the best backs in the league but i think it will be in the forwards that we struggle in the coming season. Compared to the likes of our main rivals Barrow and Fev our pack is a bit meh for me. |
