Another rumour, and I know there are so many and so many are rubbish but I heard this today.
The RFL are offering Wakefield 250,000 to go into National League for 2012.

If there is any truth it is disgusting!
Keeping Harlequins in and paying us out.
We have been in the play-offs and haven't been relegated out since we came in.
There are other teams less deserving of a place than us.

Heard this a while ago from some Cas fans in Ryhill, they had heard on the grapevine, would be rather ironic if it turned out to be true.



On field playing matters are not high up the list anymore.

Why on earth would we do this just at the time when we are awaiting a result of the most important day in the clubs history?

It would make no economic sense whatsoever, particularly in the same season that we would be moving into a new ground. On pure attendances alone, that would be 4,166 tickets a year at £20 each to break even over three years, ie, we would have to have an attendance drop of less than 400 a game over three years on gate receipts alone to be in profit (and that is maintaining a £20 admission in the Championship). That is ignoring Sky money, commercial sponsors, pie and beer money.

It sounds like complete tosh when you look at the sums.

Why would the RFL pay that much to a side they could just remove for nothing for the very same season anyway? Doesn't make sense either way to me.
