You will all be aware of the 1873 Club that has just been launched. You will also be aware that in order to “tick a box” for the Super League Franchise application we have to have 5,000 Members. I understand that we have around 3,000 members and therefore we are falling short of the target.
Could I on behalf of the Supporters Trust urge as many of you as possible to sign up to the 1873 Club. Also could I ask that you urge as many of your friends and family to also join the scheme.
This is very important as our survival in Super League could hang on this but don’t forget as well as a means to increasing our membership it is a very good scheme and for only £2 per week there are many benefits to be had.
Could I also please ask any Members of the Supporters Trust who are not members of the Club to go down to the Club Shop where you can obtain BRONZE MEMBERSHIP at no cost, just show your Share Certificate and by so doing you will immediately increase membership numbers.
Could I also make a further request on behalf of the Trust. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in signing up supporters at Sunday’s game with Huddersfield Giants. If you are interested in helping us to help the Club achieve 5,000 members would you please meet at the blue hut just inside the ground at 2.30pm. In order to get an idea of numbers it would be appreciated if volunteers could confirm their attendance by e-mailing us at wtsupporterstrust@virginmedia.com.
I appreciate there are a lot of “ask” here but I cannot over emphasise the importance of achieving the target of 5,000 members and we need all your help to achieve this. To paraphrase the late John F Kennedy – “Don’t ask what Wakefield Trinity can do for you but what you can do for Wakefield Trinity”

We are talking about less than the price of a pint a week to help us get to that magic 5,000 members figure that could save our Super League status.
Join up, help the franchise bid, help our junior development and maybe help yourself to a nice tidy prize of anything from £500 to £5,000.
If you've already joined but friends who go haven't, then give them a nudge. Even if you know people who are not supporters but fancy a shot at winning a prize (much better odds than the National Lottery) then give them a nudge too.
I'm much too old now for Club 18-30 but you're never too old (or too young) for Club 1873
