| A key position and with Jowitt possibly out injured for a number of weeks who do you think it should be?
Gaskell? Hall? Butterworth?
Or do Trinity try to address the deficiency of depth in a specialist position by bringing in an experienced full back?
A good full back has a big influence on the defensive structures I’m led to believe…. Shaul from Hull? James Clare who doesn’t have a club?

Hall isn’t a full back and neither is Gaskell.
Butterworth is the most experienced full back after Jowitt.
A loan move would be sensible.

Keeping saying this doesn’t make it true. As i said yesterday his experience at fullback is VERY limited and what he has is against kids. Chucking him in out
Of position risks ruining him. Gaskell actually is our most experienced fullback after Jowitt but he just isn’t very good. Sadly he is the likely option given our lack of funds and lack of availability of loan options.

| Whoever pulled the plug on the Shaul deal should stay away from future recruitment.

Shaul is currently injured i believe and has started his testimonial season so would be unlikely to come. Clare has given up full time rugby to take up a teaching role and run his kids coaching business. Struggling to think of another fullback who would be available.

| Shaul has a minor calf strain according to the Hull press release 2 weeks ago but as you say it’s his testimonial year and OOC at the end of this season…

| Think we could start 3 or 4 new topics on different positions e.g. Stand off, hooker and a few more .I would be knocking on Wigans door to see if we could get Hampshire back to play, Please do not to on about is tackling after the way Gaskell is performing .If we had not let him go ,with the squad we got now he would be a star ..

Well I’ve seen him play there in academy and friendly and I’m pretty sure reserves too last year which isn’t all against kids. All young players are somewhat of a gamble but you never truly know until they get the opportunity.
I don’t think Butterworth is ready but he may very well be a better option than Gaskell. I don’t see an issue with the odd game but it’s overexposure that needs to be avoided.
If it’s 2 month though as rumoured then we need to bring a full back in or we will find it difficult.
I’m not sure who’s available though:
Shaul
Hampshire (probably still injured)
Escare

Escaré has signed for Carcassonne. I looked earlier.

In the end, Hull wouldn't let him go, so I'm not sure what your point is.
