This would not be the first signing we have missed out on in recent years. Rumour aside I am aware that Lauatiiti nearly came our way and its well documented that we were talking to Dobson.

If the board didn't offer Puletua the right amount (and by that I would say he should have been made our top earner) then thats another nail in their coffin.

The bloke is a freak of a player.

Actually, St's got rid of a few last year including Scully and only brought him in iirc? They said they wasn't spending full cap.

Playing very well. When he was signed we got all the idiots telling us he was finished and that his brother (Frank) Puletua was the better player etc...

However that was bullsh*t. He is and always will be a much better player than Frank. He was awesome against you guys yesterday. Love the way he transfers the ball into each hand when running.

Nah. We got rid of Talau, Fozzard, Scully and Bennett at the end of last season, only bringing in Puletua. We didn't recruit for Talau at left centre; that's a favourite slot for our young guys to get their first grade debuts! We still have money under the cap.

I have to say, for just one signing we have dropped on really lucky. He's an amazing player.

how saints get under the salary cap amazes me...there support is terrible for a team that has dominated for the past 5 years or so......how can one team boast a team where every player was or is a full international ie: last season is making the salary cap a mokery......same goes for wire.......saying that though, with the new tax laws coming into place regards aussies having %40 of there wages put in offshore accounts, we'll soon see who is playing by the "RULES"....
