Another great attendance last night bouyed by an (alleged) ticket giveaway for the 2nd game in succession. Good idea by the club IMO but I wonder if they're trying to increase gates to make us more attractive to a major sponsor? Does the P&O deal run out this year? We also had the sponsorship related questionnaire recently.

Very forward thinking if it is linked to that as the extra cost of a few freebies would be more than offset by the increased sponsorship.

I understand the tickets were not free but discounted to local RL clubs? But then again maybe you know better

Either way the free tickets IMo are not adding to the atmosphere I thought it was poor at best again yesterday. Where has our passion gone? ( the crowds!"icon_wink.gif

The passion for booing was alive and well, although I thought Thaler had a pretty good game tbh.

He didn't make any glaring errors leading to tries or anything, but the wrestling/delaying the PTB was utterly ridiculous. Turned the game into one long bore.

First half in particular was an absolute shocker in that respect.

He should have given a few more penalties I agree, but he reffed it the same for both sides and thats all you can ask for. The conditions meant it was never going to be a free flowing game ayway.

I think the discounted tickets are a good idea, we still had 10,000 seats to fill last night, so its good that the club are trying to gain some new fans to fill them

as for the atmosphere, yes it is poor, but its a hangover from the last 2 years IMO, we still haven't seen an amazing performance at home since 2007. Last nights game was spoilt by the constant laying on, which affects the atmosphere.

Think Leeds have moved ahead of us on the attendance average now, good crowd though for our game.

Another great attendance. I've no problem with discounted tickets for the occasional game as long as it's not a regular thing. That could devalue the benefits of a season ticket.

As for future offers, I'd like to see Hull push for a 20,000 plus gate for a non derby game. It would probably have to be against Leeds or Wigan but an offer like Wigan's "The Big One" last season would be excellent. I think they reduced prices to a tenner and gave season ticket holders extra vouchers.
