Signing Paul Cooke was one of the best and most important pieces of business in the history of the club.

Cooke moving back to FC is probably the only way he could ever be granted forgiveness despite the fact he'd be leaving a club challenging for silverware to a bottom 4 club with no chance of ever challenging the top teams for the duration of the rest of his career.

I can't imagine Cooke's contract being renewed when it expires at the end of next season so who knows.

But even if he goes west it will be too late for FC to rectify the damage that has been done since his switch and Rovers would be in an excellent position to attract world-class stand-off-half.

Now forgive me if I am missing something here but are you not banging on about things in the past there? And the amount of people on here with signitures stating HKR and Hull City are the areas only Wembley winners and scorelines from previous derbies in their avatars I would suggest it is possible that both clubs have some real sad fans living in the past
