| Always with great respect to Neil Hudgell for his years of backing to the Robins and without him we wouldn't be where we are now. Sometimes however I wish Neil would use the undoubted business acumen more when making statements about Rovers and its future, rather then the passion and fervour of a lifelong Rovers fan.
It may be a complete coincidence that a matter of months after he cast doubts over his continuation as the money man next season, that we lose two young players to St Helens, and three vital experienced players, two back to Australia and one across the river. Also you have to ask what question marks does it create in the minds of any new players we are looking to recruit.

It doesn't matter because a business man wouldn't pump in money to lose it.

One thing i've come to terms with is that there is no sustainable business model for Hull KR, for the simple reason that our competitors are either bigger than us (eg Wigan or Leeds) or happy/willing to run at a loss (most of the rest).
Now, if the choice is do we want to be treated like fans or customers, I'd lean towards fans, but you don't want to go too far either way. You have to make the 'product' enticing, because relying solely on loyalty won't work. But if you go too brushed steel, shiny plastic and aloof people will eventually stop caring.
With hindsight NH might have over done the honesty and spooked people (fans, players, sponsors etc), but at least we know. If he'd gone for massive possitivity and then had to stick us in adminstration, that'd not have been a good look at all.
I'm not sure where we'll end up. Some indications that we're fine for 2014, but as yet not much further: Sandercock's 1-year deal, NH staying on as chairman for 2014, no retention or recruitment yet, this article...

But as I say, I've come to terms with it. Teetering on the edge is how most clubs operate, and when you fall death is often only temporary.

Yes he did and he also talked about starting with a clean slate regarding the debt - there are more positive indications too. We'll get a firmer idea soon, I guess. At worst it sounds like we'll be alright-ish in the short term and that is all that can be said of most SL clubs - we're just more conscious of it because of our chairman and our local rivals. In some ways that is a good thing

| As stated earlier we have both in Neil Hudgell.
I cannot help look at lost oppurtunities for raising income thougth, match days are a prime example.Approximatley 7000 people are at CP for the game and during the game the catering facilities for them are minimal. The bars in the ground before and after are too say the least basic, I know many people who would stay on at the ground after games for a meal or a show but we loose this possible income.
People love to gamble a row of one arm bandits would be an income puller, a club cannot survive on the match day takings alone we need the ground to be a social meeting point on days when no games are going on
