I'm currently on holiday in turkey but catching up where I can, read the courier article entitled one in five, I mean seriously Karl, Fev and Sheffield favourites as finished 1st and 2nd and we are probably third favourites. You should have been a bookie, that should only read we are confident and full of confidence!!. No wonder the teams confidence hit the floor only a month back. It's player recruitment last year that's to blame and not getting playmakers in, that's your job, so FFS be confident get the fans confident in you as a coach and tell the world it's "our year" again, and for god sake lets recruit well for next year.

On recruitment in this weeks RL press KH just says that there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes but things take time and no need to panic.

A lot no doubt will become clearer once the season is finally over which for us hopefully will not be anytime soon.

Simon Brown is a very dangerous player with a good kicking game - he would be a good signing IMHO

decent kicking game yes, decent goal kicker yes...dangerous ? He does not take the line on at all in a game and in the last 3 years he has only scored 4 times which is a pretty poor return for any half back.
Whilst he will certainly offer a better kicking game than Thackery he certainly wont chip in with the 10-15 tries per season that Thackery has done consistently, and that in general most top championship half backs do....

Reeks of a panic buy. Theres got to be a young half back on the fringes in SL or even an Aussie who we could sign to do a better job hasnt there?

People thinking the play is boring this year wont be excited at the prospect of Brown and Mennell coming in to the team.

cant say I am impressed to be honest if true and looks like another poor recruitment. For me we need somebody with some speed and willing to take the line on and create. Simon Brown doesnt fit that criteria. He can kick but I certainly dont see him as a top Championship halfback and with the current Coaching staff I cant see him improving much. And whats he done at York? Nothing. Maybe I am being harsh but are we sure theres not better out there at SL or Australia if not in the Championship?

I was surprised when he went to York and it's not been a great move for him, has it ? He's got a great kicking game but, as you say, if you want someone to take the line on, you need sumbdy else.
