| Can anyone get a game in State of Origin?
Will Gareth Ellis be in next years squad?

| At least the selectors have gone on current form.
I think NSW have definately got a pretty good chance with that team, the forwards are really strong and they are gonna have to be. Good to see Luke O'Donnell in there and Ben Creagh as they have both been in outstanding form so far and Gallen although the Sharks are crap he is top class and deserves to be there.
Also good to see Jennings in there with Hayne, both are going great and Campese came up with the goods against the Warriors just as i thought he'd blown it after a slump in form but he'll prove his worth.
Monaghan is a bit unlucky to get pipped by McManus IMO and how is Luke Lewis only 18th man? They've gone for Wing instead but what does he have to do to make the team he's been excellent. He was 18th man in the City-Country game too.

| Not a bad team IMO. Exciting backline, with Jennings and Hayne in there. I'm a bit surprised at McManus, thought he might have been behind Monaghan and Williams in the pecking order. Jennings had to be in there, but I might have given his origin debut on the wing with Matt Cooper inside him to provide defensive cover and had Lyon and Hayne as the other three quarters.
The half backs are right combination, Campese deserves his chance and will provide the perfect foil for Wallace. Robbie Farah will really galvanise the Blues this year from dummy half as well.
I like the props NSW have gone with, but I would have put Tupou on the bench with Gallen and Creagh starting in the second row, and Glenn Stewart at loose forward.
All in all, this is a decent NSW side which should at least take the game to a decider against the Maroons. If the Blues can win the first game in Melbourne, then a shock series win could be on the cards.

| I think the selectors got it right, but i still cant see NSW winning the series. Queensland look too strong yet again. Looking forward to the series, especially game 2, finally get to go to an Origin game

| i think nsw can win it with their fresh side. i always think its dangerous when a side picks itself for long period of time with relatively little change no matter how much talent it has i.e. Qld.
NSW win series 2-1
problem is will gallen and g.stewart be in melbourne? arent they at disciplinery committee this week?

| Queensland to win this 2-1. A backline of Slater, Boyd, Inglis, Hodges and Folau with a halves pairing of Lockyer and Thurston is dream team material.

| I know the Queensland backline is the best but NSW are strong aswell and are all inform so far this season. Gidley is playing better than Slater, Hayne is playing better than Boyd, Jennings is playing better than Inglis (i've been disappointed with Inglis this year), Lyon is playing aswell as Hodges (and Hodges has missed the last 2 for the Broncos with injury), and obviously Folau blows McManus away but he's still been in good form.
Campese on his day isn't far behind Lockyer and can turn a game, and Thurston is just a million times better than Wallace but he's the best NSW have at 7 unfortunately. Could do with Prince switching states.
And the pack is solid so it should be a good series. NSW 2-1.
How has Nate Myles got in the Queensland side ? He's crap and a penalty machine

Yes they have but James McManus has pledged his alliance to Australia and thus has been picked for the NSW team.
James could of played for Scotland in the last world cup but choose not too.
