I think its a good move to change Club, he needed to get out of the Shadows of his team mates at the Storm and forfill his potential as a play maker at another Club.

Not sure if the Dragons would be the best choice though.
He would have been far better off at Brisbane in my opinion.

The thing is though he isn't under rated down here hence the $2.2 Million 4 year contract, nor are many of the other Melbourne players. They were talking about this Melbourne 'Myth' the other week. I do agree that he doesn't always get the praise but that will always happen at a club that has so many superstars.

How come player transfers such as this one and the Soward deal get announced so early in the season?
If this were in SL, we might hear plenty of rumours but more often than not the clubs would wait until towards the end of the season before officially announcing anything.
How will the fans react towards Widdop and Soward now for the rest of the year? And what's stopping Melbourne from simply dropping Widdop completely and playing Finch at 6 instead?

Why would they?
The Storm want to win as many games as they can, Widdop is a far better player than Finch.

Not sure if this is a good or bad move for him really. Great to get out of the Cronk/Smith/Slater shadow but more potential to be shown up and have a lot more pressure put on him.

Could go either way. Plenty of player have moved on from the Storm and looked a lot worse. Adam Blair the latest.
