| No, Hewer is from Cumbria - Whitehaven IIRC.
One of the best NL refs and probably as good as most - or all - SL whistlers IMHO.
If I recall it correct he would have been full time but has a good career.

| We owe Catalans from last season, turned us over 3 times last year. They appear to be hitting a bit of form. Some of there backs begining to look good, partiqularly like the French lad in the centre. He looks a real handfull. I think a steady uncomplicated game plan will see us through to a victory and cement our position in the top four. Would go with Raleigh for Aspinwall or Lunt if recovered from injury.

| It's another tough game this one, Catalans will be upbeat after beating Quins, but they don't travel well this term, then again we're better away than at home.
Having said that the last 2 home games have been very encouraging, and I am feeling confident that if we keep our feet on the ground we will beat them, if results go our way we could mathematically have qualified for the playoff's come the end of next Friday with Quins still to play Wire

| Quote DARRELL GRIFFIN believes the Giants have the front-row firepower to see off Catalans Dragons and take another massive step towards a top-three Super League finish.
Huddersfield entertain the French at the Galpharm on Sunday (3.00) looking to secure a 15th victory of the season that could take them five points clear of fourth-placed Hull KR with just five rounds of the regular season remaining.
For that to be achieved, the Giants must get the better of a Catalans pack that never refuses to take a backward step.
But the in-form Griffin has no doubt he and his teammates – and particular fellow props Eorl Crabtree, Paul Jackson and Keith Mason – will win an explosive forward battle and close in on the play-offs.
“Catalans have a very tough, physical pack who like to dominate the opposition,” said Griffin, whose joint ‘hit’ with Scott Moore on Dragons prop star Jason Ryles on the opening day of the season helped lay the foundations for the Giants 30-8 victory.
“But we’ll be ready for them and, with the form we’re in, we’ll relish the challenge.
“That’s because we’ve got such a great squad. There’s a real mix of players, especially in the front row, with everyone of us bringing something different to the role.

Lets hope in-form Griffin signs a contract extension with the Giants.

Aspy and Lunt to miss out.
the other options would be wild to centre, Brown to so and fulton to loose. That way we can deal with their centres
