Right, I know you have to win the GF to be in the world club challenge, BUT which gets you more excited? Iv had this arguement with several people. Personally im more excited for Sunday, its on our own patch, in front of 20,000+ Wiganers, to become the greatest team in the world. Winning it would top the Grand Final for me. Thoughts?

The Grand Final, because the aussies tarnish the rep of the WCC by not taking it seriously. Plus I don't see how Wigan 2011 can be crowned the best club in the world just for beating St George 2011. It was Wigan 2010 that won the Super League after all. Having said that I can't wait for the game anyway!

I would have said this a few weeks ago, but hearing and reading the interviews with the St George players, it seems they are fired up big time for this

Had this been played in Australia i would of easily gone for WCC.

I don't want to take anything away from any english club that manages to win the WCC in this country but the fact that we once won it in their back yard hurts them more than anything.

I hope so, but them only coming over so soon before the game, and originally talking like they didn't want to play it, doesn't fill me with confidence

I'd have to agree with you there, to win it for the fourth time would be fantastic. This will be my first wcc and to say I'm excited would be an understatement!

Also with Wayne Bennett going home, they will be playing with the "do it for Wayne" attitude, I think this has the potentiel to be the best WCC for years.

Can't decide. I get so excited for any final, I can't choose between them.

This is the problem. Even if the opposition give you a thumbs-up for beating them, there are certain elements in Australia who can never lose graciously. Some of their administrators, some of their press men, etc.

Even in 1994, half way through the game the commentators were starting to make excuses about Brisbane being tired after recent matches. It took John Monie to correct them, by pointing out that Wigan had just finished an arduous season of about 30 fixtures. They were also playing without their two international prop forwards. Who was it who should really be the more tired?

This is definitely one of the problems currently with international RL, in all its forms. Too many people in Australia are simply too arrogant to accept that there needs to be a competitive programme beyond the NRL or the Origin series, and will not give it the moral and emotional support that it needs.

However, I certainly don't include Wayne Bennett in that - he's always been a firm supporter of international events.
