and nobody in Super League will come near us, in my opinion. Credit to St. George, they were absolutely superb, and showed that we still have a way to go before we can be number one. But boy they were hanging on in at the end, and on another day it might have been different.

Whilst disappointed with the result the Dragons are a fantastic team and we had a few missing (with Fielden, Lima, Ricahrds and Finch in the mix we may have just pipped them!).

As you say we should have a good season if we play like that.

Salford next week should be interesting!

Tonight really proved to me how poor then SL is...

Not Wigans performance though.
For me, we were putting on plays at time which we'd score for fun off week in week out in SL.
Most of the time tonight, those plays were comfortable for SGI

Too true ... at least tonight restored a bit of faith in British rugby for me ..... big crowd, a lot of local lads playing for Wigan and we gave a good account of ourselves against a quality team (who deserved to win).

If only the rest of the British teams could up their standards more .... too much mediocre fayre being served up in front of poor crowds, with teams too reliant on ageing overseas players!

Can't help but feel Lenigans strategy of reducing reliance on overseas players and developing a local based squad over the longer term will pay dividends

No other team in Superleague would have come close to St George tonight, if we play like that the rest of the season we will be playing in the WCC next year.

If we play like that every week we'll go unbeaten for the rest of the season. Unfortunately it's not gonna happen!

There was very little between the sides. Both made a few handling errors, both threw the ball about well, defence down the middle from was brutal and solid.

The only difference for me - and I hate to say it because I like the lad - was our defence out wide, Goulding in particular getting sucked in and leaving his wing open a couple of times. St George were stunning in defence and the holes we needed never appeared.

Disappointed to have lost but we stood up and were counted. Any other SL team would have conceded 40 tonight.

Tbf to Goulding. He lost his centre and therefore Joel had to play our of position and often went in when Gleeson would have stayed out.

IMO the lad was hopelessly outnumbered on numerous occasions and did well a lot of the time.

Any other team in super league would have been nilled tonight.

Wire/Saints/Hudds would have given them a game too. Result may have been the same but that comment is just daft.

Ok I will change it a little. No other team in super league would have got 2 tries.

Their defence is awesome. Simple as.
