So, after today, there is only 47 days untill our first game of the season....thats just under 7 weeks if you were wondering - anyone starting to get rugby fever again? i am



with the confirmation of king and now johnson, that takes us to what? 7 new signings in the off season? we dont think there are any more to come...so...i ask...for your seasons predictions...

I think there will be some typical wakefield games again this term, where we grab defeat from the jaws of victory. however, i think they will be few and far between...or at least im hoping so!

after looking around other boards, it seems as though the giants are bulling themselves up for another CC final appearance (and typically, like most, have us down to finish somewhere near the bottom) - however with our blend of youth and experience, i think we're in with a shout of a CC final - king kear has a couple more pieces to that puzzle and this season we have more players who know what its like to play in the big games.

we've signed up several young lads from an outstanding crop of academy players who have no reason but to bust a gut day in day out - lets remember, theyre not here to make the numbers up - we're not that kind of club any more.

personally id like us to go one better in the league and finish in the top 4 - however, 5th last year was a great achievement and id like us to at least equal that.

So, im going for a 5th or better finish in the league and at least a CC semi final....

I think backing up our best season in more than 20 years with another just as good is a VERY stretching but achievable target. I think top 6 is a realistic tagret. Predicting the cup is bonkers - we should ofcourse target winning it but there is a big element of luck of the draw involved.

The squad on paper is better then last years, however, others will have also improved. Wire, Hull and Bradford will have better seasons this year then last so although the collective ability of the team has increased, the final position may further down the table. A top 8 finish would be satisfactory for me. I would say 7th.

A cup run would be nice but Trinity seem to bottle it when they come up against SL opposition.

I reckon they will be in the top 2 and with the playing roster and coaching staff involved i cant see why people are looking at being "average" i.e 5th 6th 7th. It will come down to belief - because in my opinion we certainly have the ability.

top 8 and i'll be happy. expectations are perhaps understandably high but we need to retain perspective imo

I think we overacheved last season and there'll be a bit more pressure on us this season but with the squad we have plus we have the best youngsters too i think 5th again

Would be delighted to be in the play-offs again and I think this is what we should be aiming for to prove that we "add to the competition" for our next application

think its more that a couple of teams below us under acheived, but i'm happy with any play off spot, Dont be greedy

We can have a much better run from 8th than we did from 5th - so as long as we are there I will be happy.

I'll go 6th in the league and do it the hard way in the play off seem to play better where we are up against it

I don't think we will do better than last year as I belong to a small group that believes our Club massively over-performs year on year.

Have to say I find this quote hard to understand.

If we over-perform year on year doesn't that just mean that you are simply under-estimating Wakey's ability and potential year on year?

So which is wrong - your judgement or the team's ability to perform well?
