can anyone recommened a decent but cheap gym in the west hull/hessle area as i maybe moving back to hull in the very nr future....thanx

I use the Village Hotel. Good gym and pool without any fuss.
Plus for me is it opens at 6.30 so I can spend and hour there in a morning before I go to work.
Not sure what the full price is as I have an off peak over 55 membership at £27 per month.

Think its called Workout Gym, been on the go years. I used to go before it moved into the industrial unit its in now.

Palm springs in Anlaby is an excellent VFM gym.
£22 a month off-peak and £28 full membership.No swimming pool but there's a sauna and steamroom,plenty of free-weights,machines and cardio equipment.
I would'nt recommend the village.It is expensive and has lost a lot of members over the last few months.The customer service is'nt very good,never an instructor when you need one,gym equipment that keeps breaking and takes weeks to get fixed,jacuzzi and sauna are regularly out of use and even the bloody roof leaks in the gym when it rains.

I use Village too and although it is expensive I end up getting decent value for money.

Its around £47 a month for full membership although there is good joining offers. You also get 20% off drinks and food in the bar and I think the same from the restaurant all of which I use regular.

I've not had any such problems with the staff and to be honest most of them are friends now. It's not an intimidating gym like some of the back street ones either.

£2 to join then £1.50 and you can use it all week for that.
Ask for Jim Brown, great guy and i'm sure if you see Dave Grantley on the top floor (Boixing) he'll let ya work out on the bags aswell.
Old but a great place.

I go to Brantingham Parks on the Ionians site near Elloughton, not bad value for money at £27 a month. Just a weight gym, but every piece of equipment you'll need!

just been to village and its a tad expensive for me,went to haltemprice but was shut,so i'll try when its open and also costello and the others too thanx
