I thought I was laughing with you and not at you - I thought you were bringing up the old Friday night versus Sunday thing which is why I sed. I'm pretty sure that clubs who play on a Friday do it for good sound financial reasons otherwise we'd all be playing on Sundays. I personally couldn't get to any game on a Sunday, home or away, because I travel to work on that day. Perhaps Sundays are better for travelling away - I don't know, I have never done the research.
My view, for what it's worth, is that the Saints clash was about it being the first game of the season, Hull fans hadn't seen competitive RL for a long time and that Long was going back to his old stomping ground. Sunday might have been an added factor - I have no idea.
