I have to say I do like the look of Westerman and used in the right way I think he could be a great signing, particularly as he's young and British. Not captain material yet though.

Possible but plenty of water to flow under the bridge first. I like the way he carries the ball and he has looked more confident game by game in his new environment.

Yeah he has a long way to go but is only early in his career... Plus has got probs one of the most influential captains of the superleague era in Long to learn from.. Signs look positive!

I think Fitz is a much better role model personally.

Far too young to be captain material.....We need to let the kid settle in the right environment, and let his natural game evolve, I predict he will be in the national squad in the next 3 years.

TBF, the OP didn't ask if he was a possible Hull FC captain now, but in the future.

For me, he has to build up a hell of a reputation for him self and get players to really respect him as a leader, like players like Fitz and Long, rather than simply be a very good rugby league player.

cant argue with that... fitzys final speech to the roosters mob afew years back would have sent a clear message that the man is a natural leader and a true proffessional in every sense of the word......
