| I met a Hull FC Supporter today outside the Supermarket and we discussed the trials and tribulations on our Beloved team. After 10 min I said I really have to go and get back to the Olympics and he said o no not for me - BMX Biking , Long Distance Swimming no. What a misory.
How do we all feel - how great has it been.

What about the dressage !!!!
I cannot wait for the 'legacy' after the games when all the 's start up riding schools( with all the tethered horse around Hull) in East Park and Pearson Park to encourage 'ordinary' kids into the sport.

These Olympics have been brilliant, I think the Jubilee and the Torch Relay really got the country "up for it" and the atheletes and volunteers and spectators have been swept along on a wave of almost euphoria, a few people on message boards that don't quite understand the sacrifice and comittment required to become an Olympian in ANY sport, let alone to medal, and let alone again for that medal to be gold will not detract from that, they just show themselves up for being narrow minded.
I've watched just about every sport, from double trap shooting, sailing, dressage, show jumping, archery, basketball to athletics, rowing and cycling, the list is endless. Each and every day I have been proud to be British, and more recently as we've climed the medal table in our own right, a Yorkshireman.
I was sceptical, and I am proud to admit I was totally wrong.

you called one of the most difficult equestrian disciplines "like the ministry of silly walks", you have no concept of what it takes to get a horse to do those things, I would bet £20 you can't even ride a basic nag, let alone make it trot or gallop.
if some poster on a message-board wrote "I got bored at the rugby, it's just a bunch of big thick blokes throwing an egg shaped ball around" what would you say?
anyone who reaches the pinnacle of their sport deserves respect, I bet you love darts, easier to throw an arrow than to get a 3/4 of a ton animal to "dance" at your command.

| The Olympic Games have been fantastic. This afternoon alone I've watched dressage, BMX cycling and women's boxing. I've watched nothing but sport since the games began.
The British success has certainly given the country a feel good factor it's needed after the economic gloom of the last four years or so.
Hopefully the likes of Wiggins, Ennis, Trott, Brownlee, Adams etc etc will inspire young people as true role models rather than the overpaid, foulmouthed primadonnas in the Premiership or contestants in The X Factor and Big Brother.
