Does anyone think we should just make the call now and get waney to come out publically and say we will pick the lowest placed team?!
Its a joke creation anyway, and can only have a negative impact from our point of view in motivating the team we pick - IMO we should negate this and show the whole thing up as the mockary it is by making it a non event and just say now we will pick the lowest placed team full stop!

Out of interest, if Leeds go to Cats and stick a real convincing victory on them, while a misfiring Wire scrape past Hull/Huddersfield by 2 or 3 points, who would you go for?
I just ask this, because in hindsight, its pretty obvious that last year we should have chosen yourselves over Leeds, as it was apparent that you had run out of juice and that Leeds were on a bit of a roll.
However, fear of appearing arrogant probably influenced, and will probably always influence, us or any side taking the gamble of picking a higher placed side.

Erroneous thinking, surely??..... Looking back at last year, Saints had the easier semi final, whilst Leeds had a real, high intensity ding-dong with us at the HJ, yet it was Leeds who looked the fresher a week later.
I'm with most people in that the clubcall is a ridiculous notion and should just be top ranking side versus lowest ranking side.....Trying to over analyse all the possible eventualities is just silly, and to be fair, is just Sky trying to create some false drama when it isn't actually there. |
