| Don't think I've ever seen a Wigan team give up like that before - embarrassing. I was peed off travelling from Leeds to watch that gutless, lacking in pride "performance", if it had been over the M62 from Wigan I'd be demanding a refund from the club.

| I agree mate from 1 to 17 we were p poor tonight. I can stand a defeat but the effort we put in tonight was simply not good enough. Our guys need to have a good look in the mirror.

Agreed. As good as Cas were we simply gave up in the second half, never mind the pub team defending at times in the first half.

At least we had the excuse of being poop then, with a shocking team. Didn't have that excuse tonight as it was lacking in pride, effort and application.

| Well it's all about perspective. A full strength Castleford at their place, when they're on song is a tough game for anybody. Combine that with Wigan having a bad day at the office without Tomkins, Manfredi, Gildart, Leuluai & Bateman from the starting line up, 2 players in the sin bin then losing Williams, Gelling, & Flower and playing with 1 sub and I'd say that spanking was inevitable to be honest.
The question I'd ask is who would u back for Old Trafford? My money would still be on Wigan. Cas are rightly on the crest of a wave and it's good to see but we're only just going into May and there is a long way to go.
Lick our wounds, lift our heads up and take it out on Salford next week. Hopefully Williams won't be out for too long, he'll be missed more than anybody (bar Lockers) IMO.

| We had a good enough team out at the start of that game last night to stop that first half happening. Our effort levels looked ok for ten minutes but sadly our right edge defence had been caught cold on a couple of occasions (with Gelling setting the tone for a poor attitude that seemed to spread) and after that we turned it in.
The second half I can let them off with. We lost Gelling, Williams and Flower to injury and Lockers, Isa, Sutton and Tautai all picked up knocks.
In the long run you just hope it'll mean as little as the Wakey result last year did but I'm not convinced. Unlike that Wakey game the opposition will be in the big games at the end of the year and the mental scars must be pretty big.

| Not just because of this result but I'd be quite confident to wager wigan will not win anything this year, injuries are going from bad to worse, we are clueless in attack and the attack is so one directional and our forwards as a unit are very poor this year, unless something drastic happens and there's a big turn around in all fortunes and I believe we won't even finish in the top four come season end IMO.

I'll give you that about the forwards, with the exception of Tautai they have all been extremely poor. As for not winning anything, it's only May and there is a long way to go yet.

I would agree with that after watching the extended highlights. I think that any team missing their 1st choice, 1, 2, 3,4, 6 and 7 as Wigan were after half time would struggle. Cas then scored four tries when Escare was in the bin, and fair play they took their advantage.
I would imagine Wane would have been more upset about the two, maybe three soft tries conceded in the 1st half for the 1st, 3rd and 4th tries, two one pass crash over, and the melting defence for that 4th. Again Wigan gave the ball away on the 1st or 2nd tackle after scoring to get back in the game at 4 - 14.
Losing three players and having two sin binned was just too much against an excellent Cas team, who would have been a real test if we had anything like a full team available.
The next month is going to be a very difficult one, but I'm confident come August/September/October we'll be in the mix for the trophies.

| I was confident that we'd be at Old Trafford come the end of the season, but this injury crisis isn't easing up at all.
At this rate we'll miss out on the Top 4.

| We had an injury crisis last season but managed to grind out narrow victories. It hasn't happened this year. The defence was shambolic against Cas, with the McMeekin try almost unbelievable. The attack looks clueless at times. There is no organisation and precious little will to win.
We need Sam Tomkins back. His leadership is needed. Escare's kicking is causing him to lose confidence and he has been poor in the last two games.
The defence has to improve. It looks as though we have become complacent since Cronulla.
However there is time to put this right. I'm expecting defeat on Friday. But we will still be close to the top 4.
I have to admit that Cas were good and deservedly favourites for the GF. No one will write Wigan off yet though.
